Qualitas Medical Practice Bentleigh East is pleased to welcome Dr Mehdi Eskandari an Australian-trained Consultant Cardiologist providing comprehensive adult cardiology care.
Dr Eskandari offers assessment and management for a broad range of common cardiac presentations, including:
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath (breathlessness)
- Palpitations
- Hypertension
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Cardiovascular risk assessment and management
He is committed to delivering accurate diagnoses and practical, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each individual patient.
Training and International Experience
After completing his cardiology training in Australia, Dr Eskandari undertook fellowship training in advanced echocardiography at King’s College Hospital in 2015. He was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at King’s, where he practised until 2026.
During his time in London, Dr Eskandari:
- Worked within a multidisciplinary heart valve service
- Contributed to the development of a structural heart programme
- Maintained a broad general cardiology practice across outpatient clinics
- Provided inpatient and acute cardiology care
This combination of tertiary-level experience and general cardiology practice enables him to manage both complex and routine cardiovascular conditions with confidence and precision.
Areas of Expertise
Dr Eskandari has particular expertise in cardiac imaging, including:
- Transthoracic echocardiography
- Stress echocardiography
- Transoesophageal echocardiography
- Cardiac CT
His subspecialty interest is in valvular heart disease and imaging-guided decision-making in complex cases. Alongside this, he continues to manage the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions encountered in everyday practice, ensuring balanced and pragmatic care.
